On Jessica's Departure

This is probably the first positive thing I'll write about this, but I'm still pretty much bitter about this.

I've recently met with a friend who's surprisingly updated about SNSD despite her not being a hardcore k-pop fan. She told me she liked So Nyuh Shi Dae without Jessica better. She said Jessica wasn't nice. I couldn't bring up points to defend her but still I tried to argue against her point. However, she was a good friend, so I didn't pursue it anymore.

Moments later, as I headed home, the statement hit me harder that it previously did. It paved the way for acceptance. Slowly, I began to realize that Jessica was no longer part of SNSD and I should probably move on. We didn't know the entire story and Jessica might've really wanted to leave. But still a heavy part of me insisted that Jessica would still be part of SNSD if not for SM. Then the other part argued that SNSD wouldn't have gone on with projects because of Jessica's indecision-if she was thinking of her fashion empire that time. Let's stop here before you and I get exhausted with the endless what if and unanswered questions we SONEs have.

So, Lion Heart got released and I felt really guilty for watching the mv on the day of its release. It took me a lot of convincing from my sister to watch the Party MV because I wanted to stay loyal to SNSD (OT9). Come to think of it, that might have been a bit pointless. By the way, I ended up buying all of Jessica's recent magazines because I missed her badly. But then, Lion Heart was great and so enjoyable. By far, the best mv they've released.

Then I realized soshi has already changed. There was no going back. They're improvement is owed to Jessica's departure. Due to the absence of one, the eight had to overcompensate. In addition to the performance and aesthetic, they had to get back the trust of the fans who were badly hurt when Jessica was kicked out of SNSD. They had to work hard and work hard they did. Lion Heart was so good that it carved out a space in my heart. It might've shaken my loyalty but still I'll stick with OT9.

Plus, the eight of them shined more than they ever did. Maybe they had more opportunities to show their talents due to the longer lines and better exposure, but again this comes from the effort they've exerted in producing this record.

I haven't purchased any official merchandise post-OT9 but I might just consider buying this album.

Hi

Hi, I'm gonna revive this blog because I just feel like it. Or rather Jessica's departure triggered it. I'm still suffering from a hangover from her leaving Soshi. This is just bad.

I'm going to update with pics of Domino's. There's one in Megamall. Also my account from the Best of Best PH. I wonder why I didn't write a blog post for DKFC. -_- Thinking of writing a belated post.

I love you Sica. Why'd you leave Soshi? (I'm being irrational. Do ignore me)

Teaser for BOB post:

This isn't Domino's. :p Sorry. So, this is in relation to SNSD endorsing Lotte Department store. We got hungry a few nights ago and decided to devour this sweet treat. This tastes just fine: not too sweet, nor too salty. I liked it, but my sister didn't like the taste.

I'll also include a pic of G-Star Raw which snsd advertises in Japan. Sadly, there aren't any snsd images in the boutique. This is found in Bonifacio High Street by the way. While we were going around after scouting Korean Bbq Pub in the Fort Strip for Seohyun's birthday, we passed by this boutique. :)

I hope I can post the Domino's pizza pics by this month. Thanks for reading.

Sorry

Guys, sorry for being MIA in months. I haven't had anything to post related to the theme of this blog.
I'll try the domino's pizza in April 'cause I still don't have sufficient funds. I have to save up for the 2nd jessture pb and I still have to pay for a lot of season 1 starcards, so domino's has to wait.

Last sat, during Taeyeon's birthday, I attended the celebration in Donday along with other ssfph people. It was enjoyable as usual and I met new and old friends. I got some free ice cream from Aiki (I'm not sure with the name) too. Thanks :) I also got free drinks from Rae-rae! Thank you Rae! In line with that, I promise not to drink ever again because the day after I got a bad stomachache and I was sore all throughout. 0_0

The past year, I've attended all bday gathering starting from SunYoon's except for Seohyun's. It was nice knowing SONEs. :)

Hope to meet more of you soon. Soshi fighting!

Event Reviews (Part 2)

It's Girls' Generation's fifth anniv already. I really can't concentrate much due to this. Go on guys! Rush to twitter and tweet about it. I just washed my hands after drawing the number five using my toothpaste. Gosh, I wasted a lot of toothpaste. Moving on, I'm going to complete my recaps for last week's events because there'll be another event tomorrow. See you all at Donday!

Hallyu Fest (continuation):
There were 12 finalists who danced to various K-pop songs. They were all very impressive. I wasn't that interested though 'cause no one covered So Nyuh Shi Dae. The group that amused me a lot was the one composed of three boys who danced to Sistar's songs. They were able to dance a girl's dance well. Most groups did Exo and Suju covers. The crowd was a bit rowdy and had to be reminded to quiet down from time to time. I guess it was expected though- Boyfriend was present. I glanced at the members of Boyfriend from time to time. They really look a bit like mannequins (in a good way). I wasn't a fan but I glanced in their direction from time to time 'cause they were the first K-pop group I saw in the flesh! Anyway, there was a koreanovela cosplay which was very cute and fun to watch. The kids won. Raffles were held during intermission. Boyfriend performed. (I apologize for simply enumerating the events, I am super sleepy already)

Kfest 3:
Kfest was k-pop merchandise heaven. You could find almost all kinds of K-pop stuff there. From shirts, albums, magazines, keychains to hats, posters, dolls and many more. Too bad I wasn't able to find what I have been looking for though. I wanted to find a 'The Boys' Jap Re:pack bagtag since I lost the one I bought during 3G. I really felt bothered when I lost that bagtag. It was an unexplainable feeling. I felt bare and uneasy without the bagtag. I got so used to it being beside my bag all the time that I no longer felt complete without it. I really wanted to find one during kfest. However, I think it was no longer available and the place was too packed that I could no longer move around. Aside from that, the posters I claimed were in danger of being crushed so I just sat and watched the activities. There was a cosplay competition which was rather enjoyable and somehow entertaining. I'm a bit sad for the lack of SNSD cosplayers. The performances were fine. I wished I could have joined some of the games though. There was also a noraebang and a hanbok dress-up thing. My mistake was that I drank too much water which resulted to me peeing numerous times. Due to my bladder problem, I missed the only (I think) SNSD cover performance. It made me unhappy and caused me to go home. The main point of my attendance though was for me to claim some of the stuff I've bought. I had five meet-ups scheduled on that date. I claimed five starcards, 3 magazines ft. snsd, The Boys, Papparazzi, Baby Baby and Gee. I was happy with all the merchandise I bought. I also managed to purchase Yoona and Jessica Goobne posters and Vita500 laminated posters. The event was fine. I suggest they rent out a bigger space in the future though. I almost forgot to mention the Soshi shrine. It's every SONE's dream to own that much Soshi stuff. It was a feast for SONEs eyes. Hope to attend kfest 4 next year. :)

Event Reviews (Part 1)

Kpop Star 2012

It was a relatively lively and entertaining event. I liked it because the crowd was controlled and not that rowdy. I felt really comfortable with the venue and the performances were good as well. The event started with introductions of the judges and a few words from the director. Then the eleven finalists performed a ballad of their choice. I was happy 'cause one of them performed Taeyeon's 'If'. After their ballads was an intermission where a Korean traditional instrument was played with piano accompaniment. Later, a k-pop dance medley was performed. After the intermission, the finalists performed another k-pop song. Among the finalists, there was one who performed Genie, one who performed Into The New World, and one who performed Twinkle. I was mighty glad that there were many who opted to choose SNSD songs, but can't help but feel that they didn't do much justice to it. Nonetheless, I enjoyed their performances immensely. Also, I was so happy that I was able to see Yoona and Taeyeon standees in the venue. Taeyeon was beside me. :)) I actually moved to the back to get a glimpse of the standees. The event was a successful one and I was very lucky to have gotten a VIP ticket for the Hallyu Fest.

Hallyu Fest:

I felt the adrenaline rush during this specific event. To be honest, I really didn't care about Boyfriend (I didn't mean that in a harsh way). I just wanted to watch what the event has to offer and it's free. You could already feel the rush while outside waiting in line. The people kept on screaming every time they felt that Boyfriend was going to come out. It was certainly an ear-deafening experience. A lot of people were lined up outside the fire exit hoping to get a glimpse of Boyfriend. When we were finally allowed to enter, a lot of fans waiting behind the metal railings were complaining why they didn't get tickets. Others were upset, some felt disappointed. I just went in quietly and found a seat. The theater was packed on the elevated area, but a lot of seats were vacant on the area in front of the stage.

(to be continued)
